Can-SOLVE CKD is committed to working with partners across the country to ensure all Canadians receive the best recommended care, regardless of location or ethnicity.

Chronic kidney disease disproportionately affects Indigenous communities and those living in rural and remote locations. It is critical that we work to eliminate disparities in access to diagnosis and treatment facing individuals in these communities.

Through research and engagement, Can-SOLVE CKD aims to increase the proportion of Indigenous people screened for CKD and diabetes within Indigenous communities, and ensure those at high risk of poor outcomes are able to access treatment in a culturally sensitive manner.

The Indigenous Peoples’ Engagement and Research Council guides the Can-SOLVE CKD Network’s activities to ensure the unique needs and perspectives of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people are represented.
